CO-LEADER

Hi, I’m Steph Henson, and my family has been part of Raising Arrows for the last four years. My husband, Jonathon, and our kids—Adam, Gloria, and Ethan—have been encouraged by being part of this Christ-centered community where we can all grow and support one another. Serving has always been a passion of mine, and through my time with the Spring Fair Team and the Mom’s Encouragement Team, I’ve had the opportunity to serve in meaningful ways. Alongside being a wife and mom, I also serve as the Operations Director at Garden Gate Ranch, where I’m constantly humbled by the work God is doing in the lives of the women and children we serve. I’d love to bring that same heart of service, compassion, and leadership to the Raising Arrows Board.

Over the years, I’ve taught MS STEM, been an aide in Preschool and
Lower Elementary, and this year, I’m co-teaching HS Apologetics. This range of experience has taught me that there’s no “one size fits all” approach to education, and meeting kids where they’re at is key. I’m so grateful for that experience and for the fact that our faith is woven into everything we do. God’s love and His Word are the foundation of our community, and that’s clear in every class I am a
part of. Yes, we want our kids to learn, but we also want them to experience how amazing God is through that learning. As Co-Leader, I’d be honored to help lead with a heart of service, staying true to God’s Word, and supporting our Raising Arrows families.

Hi, I am Jeanette McBee! It has been a blessing to be a part of RA for the last 5 years. I consider this place to be where our close friends are. My husband Brad and I have been married almost 21 years. We have Alyssa, who is 14 and a freshman, and Ian who is 17 and a senior going to Wheaton College next Fall. I enjoy reading, doing puzzles, traveling, spending time with family and friends and laughing throughout life. When I first started at RA in 2020, I was on the JAG team and helped Carissa Lahey with Upper Elementary Art, which I continue to do. I taught a 9th/10th Music Appreciation class and learned so much from it! I'm on the High School Activities Team where I planned and executed the first Junior/Senior class trip. Carissa and I also jumped in to teach the 9th/10th and 11th/12th art class this past fall.

I have experience being on a formal ministry team for moms from my church back in Colorado for 6 years leading mentors, organizing a successful community-wide auction for 2 years and organizing childcare. I have been a small group leader off and on from 2014-2023, spanning our move to Iowa. I have much experience in counseling which is helpful when relating to different personalities. Currently, I have about 15 years of formal homeschooling under my belt. We are also in The Network and Joy Singers. I also run two businesses: Homeschool Consulting and a voice and piano studio out of my home. I would approach being a co-leader with prayer and diligence. When I am in a leadership position I am singularly focused to do my very best for the people around me relying on God's word and His wisdom.

TREASURER

Hi, I’m Jennifer. My husband, Alan, and I have two high school aged children, Samantha and Isaac. We like to play games, read, travel, and just hang out as a family. This is our third year at Raising Arrows, and I currently help with Middle School STEM and serve on the High School Activities Enrichment Team, including helping facilitate the High School Silver Cord program. I’ve also served as an elementary/preschool class aid.

I am applying for the role of Co-op Treasurer because I believe I can help facilitate the vision of our co-op through my education and background. I have bachelor’s degrees in accounting and business administration with over 10 years of experience working in corporate accounting and finance. I currently serve as Treasurer of our church and have served as the Treasurer of a local AHG Troup and a MOPS group. My family has been truly blessed from our years at Raising Arrows, and I see this role as a chance to not only apply my experience in finance but to also make a meaningful impact on an organization that is passionate about supporting homeschool families.

CURRICULUM COORDINATOR

Hi, I'm Ashley! Our family has been blessed by this co-op for 7 years. I love what Raising Arrows offers and am happy to give back my time and talent to continue to make it the best co-op for our families. I have served the last three years as the co-op treasurer and the last two years on the curriculum team. Everyone that teaches has put in so much time and effort over the years to provide engaging lessons for our families. I think we are really close to having a solid rotation for all classes to make the summer prep work for teachers a significantly less burden. I am also passionate about getting feedback from all families to see where we can continue to improve. I also want to provide support for all of our teachers so no one is over extended and gets burned out.
